81. The farm implements a training plan for its workers addressing the problems related to climate change and concepts related to quantification and mitigation of GHG emissions.

Record of training implementation: attendance list identifying gender, theme exposed, material exposed, photographic record and certification given.

ACTION:

82. The farm has a protocol to reduce GHG emissions with, for example, one of the following measures:

• Use energy efficient farming machines.
• Optimize the transport distances in the field to save fuel.
• Use LED lighting in warehouses, packing rooms and offices to reduce the use of electricity.
• Change from fossil fuel to electricity from the network or from solar panels in the pumping system for irrigation.
• Use conservation tillage methods that promote the capture of carbon in the soil such as minimum tillage and cover crops.
• Use of advanced formula fertilizers to reduce emissions.
• Reduce the use of fire to prepare the soil or to eliminate crop residues.
