Visual inspection of the storage area, making sure that the residues are in the correct containers avoiding direct contact with the floor so as not to pollute floors or ceilings for example.

40. The plant implements a protocol to minimize air pollution by particulate matter inside its facilities.

Means of verification:

Protocol that has the following measures to minimize pollution:

• Burning or cremation of production residues is not allowed.
• The roads are paved or chemical dust suppressor or gravel is applied on the roads to avoid the increase in pollution.
• Maintenance is carried out to the equipment that uses internal fossil fuel to avoid pollution due to mechanical failures.

ACTION:

41. The plant has an established protocol for emergency situations due to liquid residue spills.

Means of verification:

Visual inspection of signposting in places at risk of pollution that has the following elements:

• Information about immediate mitigation actions.
• Information about emergency services and local authorities.

ACTION:

42. The plant trains its personnel in the implementation of the emergency management protocol by liquid residue spills.

Means of verification:

Record of training implementation: attendance list identifying gender, theme exposed, material exposed, photographic record and certification given. It is verified that at least one of the persons in the area has received the training.
