ACTION:
83. The farm prepares and implements a disaster risk reduction, control and response plan related to climate change. The development of the plan includes determining historical and projected hazards, identifying the minimum resources and capacities to address the hazards, and determining the weaknesses with respect to the required resources and capacities. The plan’s actions are developed based on the weaknesses identified and their respective prioritization.
Means of verification:
Disaster risk reduction, control and response plan, linked to Climate Change, containing at least the following information:
- List of threats or hazards (internal and external) according to their origin, and evaluation of resources and vulnerabilities to face each one of them.
- Work programs in their prevention, response and recovery phases.
- Definition of responsible parties and mechanisms for the allocation of resources to finance the work programs arising from the plan.
- Carrying out simulations and drills.
The plan should be evaluated after the occurrence of each emergency or disaster event.
84. The farm incorporates monitoring of its own or nearby meteorological situation parameters, to visualize periods of extreme drought, high and low temperatures, and episodes of high rainfall.
Means of verification:
Record of significant meteorological events, indicating the source of the information (own weather station or data from portals such as http://agroclima.cl/ o https://agrometeorologia.cl/ of the following points:
- High temperatures (over 30°C).
- Low temperatures (less than 4°C).
- Rainfall.
- Source of information.
This record must be updated on a monthly basis.
85. The farm trains personnel on a disaster risk reduction, control and response plan, linked to climate change, to prevent them from being susceptible to damage or loss due to the effects of hazards.
Means of verification:
Training execution record (attendance list identifying gender of participants, topic presented, person presenting, material presented, photographic record and certification delivered).
86. The farm evaluates soil degradation conditions, monitoring the presence of signs of erosion.
Means of verification:
Soil erosion monitoring record that considers the following aspects:
- Presence of ditches or corrugated on slopes with more than 10%.
- Presence of living vegetation covers.
- Presence of inert plant cover.
- Presence/absence of alluvial protection infrastructure (ditches, retaining and diversion walls).
